[ brilith was going to the library for something else entirely, but when she finds nic here, she decides to table that for later. there’s something that’s been weighing on her mind, so she digs out her little notebook and the denim blue crayon, and starts to write. when she finishes, she’ll set it on the table near nic for him to read. ]
Hello, Nic. If you don’t mind my asking... the hand signs you made, during the trial. What do they mean?
[Nic was just taking a little break to read a book... There’s not a whole lot else to do and there’s books on topics here that’d never be allowed into Ergastulum. When he notices the notebook, he looks up, surprised both at the act of writing and the question itself.]
[ huh. interesting. they have tablets for that back home, and maybe there’s something similar among the population that brilith has never had to learn, as priestess, but it must be different. ]
So it’s how you speak?
[ she almost slides that back over as-is, but quickly adds one line: ]
That's alright. If it makes things a little easier for you, I think it's worth trying.
[ she can also see if the library has a book or two on it, once she knows what to look for. but she hasn't missed that nic has been struggling a little, in keeping up with trials. someone should at least try to help him. ]
Just because you can manage doesn't mean we shouldn't be thinking about you. A lot happens quickly in those trials, and writing takes time. You shouldn't be left behind due to something like that when there's something we can do about it.

this tag is tragic now but hey
Fine. But you'll have to come practice with me and Luna because I'm not doing it separately.

That would be perfect. Thank you, Nic.
